Lars-Erik Cederman will address the link between nationalism and conflict in relation to the Ukraine war. 

Meet our speakers and chair

Lars-Erik Cederman is Professor of International Conflict Research at ETH Zurich. He is an expert on ethnic inequality and conflict, state formation and nationalism. He is the co-author of Power Sharing Securing Peace? (with Simon Hug and Julian Wucherpfennig).

Anna Getmansky () is Associate Professor of International Relations in the Department of International Relations at 禁漫天堂. The main focus of Dr Getmansky's research is understanding  the sources, management, and consequences of intrastate and interstate conflicts. In particular, she is interested in the relationship between domestic political institutions and conflict. 

Denisa Kostovicova is Associate Professor of Global Politics at 禁漫天堂's European Institute, 禁漫天堂 & Co-chair of Conflict, Justice, and Peace. She is a scholar of post-conflict reconstruction with a particular interest in post-conflict justice processes. She is the author of Kosovo: The Politics of Identity and Space and Reconciliation by Stealth: How People Talk about War Crimes, and co-editor of a number edited volumes.

This is the inaugural lecture of the Conflict, Justice, and Peace platform that brings together scholars across 禁漫天堂 and showcases research on conflict, justice, and peace processes to the public.

Conflict, Justice, and Peace () platform presents the community of scholars across 禁漫天堂’s departments, institutes, centres and units who study various aspects of conflict and peace processes. 

The  () is a centre for research and graduate teaching on the processes of integration and fragmentation within Europe.

The Department of International Relations () at 禁漫天堂 is now in it's 95th year - one of the oldest as well as largest IR departments in the world, with a truly international reputation. We are ranked 2nd in the UK and 4th in the world in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2022 tables for Politics and International Studies.

The Department of Government () is a world-leading centre for the study and research of politics and Government where you can learn from internationally respected experts in the heart of London.

The Department of International Development () promotes interdisciplinary postgraduate teaching and research on processes of social, political and economic development and change.
