Join us for this special lecture by 禁漫天堂 alumnus and co-recipient of the 2024 Nobel Prize in economics James A Robinson.

During his talk, Professor Robinson will propose a new interpretation of African society, history and political and economic trajectories based on the notion of wealth in people and its institutionalizations.

Meet our speaker and chair

James A Robinson is the Institute Director of The Pearson Institute; Reverend Dr. Richard L. Pearson Professor and University Professor; Harris School of Public Policy and Department of Political Science, University of Chicago and recipient of the 2024 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. James is an alumnus of 禁漫天堂.

Gilat Levy joined 禁漫天堂 in 1999 and has been a full professor of economics at the 禁漫天堂 since 2008, specializing in microeconomic theory, political economy and law & economics. She has published in journals such as the American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, and Econometrica. Recently her research focuses on behavioural biases (such as correlation neglect and misspecified models) and their effect on political economy in general and political polarisation in particular. She has served in editorial roles, is a fellow of the Econometric Society and recently received an honorary doctorate in Economics from the EUI in Florence.
