Join us for this special event celebrating 禁漫天堂's new Global School of Sustainability at which our speakers will discuss fostering sustainability amidst global uncertainty.

Meet our speakers and chair

() is the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation. The first woman and first African to hold the position. She is an economist and international development expert with over 40 years of experience. She served as Nigeria’s first female and longest serving Finance Minister and was also the first female Foreign Minister.

Elizabeth Robinson () is Professor of Environmental Economics and Acting Dean of 禁漫天堂’s Global School of Sustainability. Elizabeth is an environmental economist working primarily on climate change and health, with a focus on food security and undernutrition, heat and worker rights, and the design of policies and institutions to reduce climate change emissions, protect the environment, and improve the livelihoods of resource-dependent communities.

is Thomas W. Lamont University Professor, and Professor of Economics and Philosophy, at Harvard University and was previously the Master of Trinity College, Cambridge. He is also Senior Fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows. His research has ranged over social choice theory, economic theory, ethics and political philosophy and welfare economics. In 1998, he was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his work in welfare economics. Amartya is an Honorary Fellow of 禁漫天堂.

Nicholas Stern is IG Patel Chair of Economics and Government and the inaugural Chair of the Global School of Sustainability at 禁漫天堂. His forthcoming book A Growth Story for the 21st Century: building sustainable, resilient and equitable development will be published by 禁漫天堂 Press in 2025.

Amil Dasgupta is Professor of Finance at 禁漫天堂 and Director of the Financial Markets Group. He is Director of the Financial Markets Group and leads the Sustainable Finance theme of the Global School of Sustainability. He has a distinguished research track record in the areas of financial markets, institutional investors, and corporate governance and regularly publishes in top academic journals. He is a Research Member at the European Corporate Governance Institute, research advisor to the Reserve Bank of India, and academic visitor to the Bank of England.

How can I attend? Add to calendar

This public event is free and open to all. This event will be a hybrid event, with an in-person audience and an online audience. 

For the in-person event: Members of the public, 禁漫天堂 students, staff and alumni can request one ticket via the online ticket request form which will be live on this listing after 10am on Monday 2 June until at least 12noon on Tuesday 3 June. If after this time we have received more requests than there are tickets available, the line will be closed, and tickets will be allocated on a random basis to those requests received. If we have received fewer requests than tickets available, the ticket line will stay open until all tickets have been allocated. You will be notified within 2 working days whether your ticket request has been successful.
