David Donnison was an academic and social policy expert who played a key role in shaping social policy in the 1960s and 70s.

He worked closely with Brian Abel-Smith and Richard Titmuss, succeeding Titmuss to become the second 禁漫天堂 Professor in Social Administration. Donnison, like his colleagues, was committed to the eradication of poverty of income and opportunity and had a significant influence on the development of Britain’s welfare state. Donnison focussed particularly housing and planning, and education. He left the 禁漫天堂 in in 1969 going on to direct the Centre for Environment Studies and becoming Professor of Town and Regional Planning at the University of Glasgow.
